Equipment & Cores

Deep dive into the equipment and core system. Learn how to maximize your build efficiency, avoid common traps, and optimize for competitive play.

Understanding Cores

Cores are equipped items that modify your character's base statistics and provide special bonuses. They are essential for competitive builds.

Key Concept: Each Core has four sub-stat slots. The first two slots are fixed, while the third and fourth can roll with different modifiers. Strategic Core selection dramatically affects your final overall grade.

Core Sub-Stat Priority

Understanding which sub-stats to prioritize is crucial for efficient progression.

Tier 1: Maximize First

Affinity (First Two Slots)

Highest priority. Affinity provides exponential stat compounding in early game. Always maximize Affinity in slots 1 and 2 for maximum efficiency. One Affinity sub-stat can be worth 40+ raw stat points.

Mood

Critical for progression speed. Elevated Mood significantly increases special training session yields. Higher Mood = faster stat gains. Keep Mood high throughout your career.

Tier 2: Important

Maximum Stamina (STM)

Situational. Useful for pitchers who need stamina endurance. However, typically lower priority than raw stats. +5 STM is common but often a trap.

Raw Stats (STR/DEX/MNT/INT)

Essential for Power Slider. These directly contribute to reaching the 620 threshold. Prioritize these in mid-to-late game.

Tier 3: Avoid or Deprioritize

Common Trap: Over-indexing on Mood or Maximum Stamina at the expense of primary offensive or defensive stats. Mood and STM modifiers are typically restricted to the 3rd and 4th sub-stat slots—choosing them represents a significant opportunity cost of 40+ raw stat points.

The 15% Skill Discount RNG

The 15% Skill Discount is a volatile sub-stat that provides a chance to acquire powerful Ultra Rare skills at reduced cost.

Best Case Scenario

Proc on a Level 5 Ultra Rare (UR) skill. Massive resource savings and significant competitive advantage.

Worst Case Scenario

Proc on a Level 2 Rare (R) skill. The discount applies to a skill you would have leveled anyway, providing minimal benefit.

Strategic Consideration: Because the 15% Skill Discount is pure RNG, do not build your progression strategy around it. Plan for the average case (proc on mid-tier skill) but hope for the best.

Common Equipment Mistakes

Mistake 1: Prioritizing STM +5 over raw stat gains
STM rarely impacts gameplay meaningfully. 40 stat points is almost always better.
Mistake 2: Ignoring Affinity in early slots
Early Affinity compounding is the most efficient stat gain in the game. Always prioritize it.
Mistake 3: Chasing 15% Skill Discount
RNG should not drive your build. Plan for average rolls, not lottery outcomes.
Mistake 4: Uneven stat distribution
Power Slider requires ALL stats above 620. Balance your training accordingly.
